Jupiter enters Pisces, 2022

Introduction

On Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 at 11:09 PM ET, the greater benefic, Jupiter, re-entered its home sign of Pisces. Jupiter will stay in this sign for the first half of 2022, and will then ingress into Aries in the spring. Jupiter has not had an easy time in the past two years moving through Capricorn and Aquarius. In Capricorn, Jupiter is in the sign of its Depression or Fall. When a planet is fallen, the significations of what that planet represents are in a state of being pushed down and worked against. However, in 2019 Jupiter was in Sagittarius, its domicile. A planet in its domicile is in the sign that it rules and has governance over. This planet gains power and strength, uninterrupted (for the most part), but also gains responsibility to maintain the integrity of what it represents. So Jupiter went from having great dignity and being supported in Sagittarius, to being fallen in Capricorn, to then being somewhat restricted in Aquarius, and finally comes back to its second home in Pisces.

The condition of Jupiter through the zodiac signs shows Jupiter’s ability to bring about its significations. Here is my list of what Jupiter represents as a planet.

Significations of Jupiter according to Blaze-Maximus

  • Jupiter is the Greater Benefic. Hot and Wet in nature, primarily hot. It is Sanguine, Airy, and temperate. Day of the week is Thursday. Governs over the Trine Aspect (120º). Jupiter’s number is 3 (in accordance with the trine aspect). It is the Benefic of the Day Sect, prefers to be on the same hemisphere of the Sun, and above the horizon in the realm of the Heavens (Spirit). Jupiter’s lesser years are 12, its mean is 45, its greater years are 79, and its greatest years are 428. Jupiter’s orb is 12º. Jupiter’s Retrograde cycle lasts 120 days, and stations Retrograde when it is in the overcoming trine to the Sun, and stations Direct when it is overcome by a trine from the Sun.

  • Jupiter rejoices in the 11th house of “Good Spirit”. Is exalted in the sign of Cancer at 15º, Depressed in the sign of Capricorn at 15º, finds its home in Sagittarius and Pisces, and finds its exile in Virgo and Gemini. In its exaltation, Jupiter, as a benefic planet, aids in the process of the growth of life through its quality of heating moderately, whether it be plants or animals. Whereas in its depression, Jupiter aids in the growth of death by being in Saturn’s sign.

  • Jupiter brings temperance, growth, prosperity, expansion, abundance, surplus, excess, and overflowing. Generosity, sharing, charity, gifts, presents, support, aid, assistance, nourishment, fulfillment, and that which grows and expands like a flower in bloom. It represents inflation, over-exaggeration, larger than life, and that which is a myth or is mythic. That which is in flight or elevates, such as airplanes, balloons, helicopters, birds, drones, or UFOs.

  • Freedom, liberation, exploration, spaciousness, ability to roam, travel, journeys and voyages, and long-distance. It rules over what is buoyant, defies gravity, and floats, whether that be literal or metaphorical.

  • It represents our capacity for seeing the good and trusting in other people, friendships, friend groups, trust, alliances, community, groups of people, crowds. There is happiness between these people, loyalty, mutual trust, and faith in the goodness of each other. Willingness to uplift and support each other. Meetings, conventions, gatherings, and togetherness are all Jupiterain. Religious services, mass, places of worship & faith. Jupiter also represents the magnanimity in physical structures, such as churches, temples, and places of worship (Notre Dame for example) but it can also represent the largeness of skyscrapers and buildings.

  • There is an air of righteousness, sometimes leaning towards an excess of self-righteousness and hubris. Trust issues and lack of faith or imagination can be experienced when Jupiter is challenged. It deprives one of nourishment and fulfillment when afflicted.

  • It also represents religion, faith, belief, spirituality, priests, religious leaders, philosophy, world view, and perspective. Teachers, gurus, spiritual advisors, and mentors are of the planet Jupiter. It is the unification of the spirit, body, and mind through faith. It can induce visions, dreams, an inner voice guiding someone through life. Finding purpose and a mission to share with others. It represents potential and the possibility of what could be, through envisioning the future. Motivations speakers and what we draw inspiration from is Jupiter.

  • It brings good spirits, success, victory, honor, achievement, recognition from those who are abundant. It bestows passion, excitement, vigor, inspiration. Lifting up someone’s spirits. It represents people in positions of authority and power. People in the public eye or are of public interest. They are leaders over groups, committees, organizations, etc. Political figures, law, justice, and peace between people are one of Jupiter’s functions as a benefic; it moderates the relationships and tensions between others so that they may see the good spirit in each other.

  • In the body, it is said to rule the thighs and the feet. Jupiter rules over activities that require the use of the thighs and feet, such as running and biking. It is said to rule the uterus, sperm, and the liver. Jupiter is also said to represent children and childbirth. In taste, Jupiter is sweet and in odors, that which is welcomed and liked by the individual.

  • The aforementioned significations can be found from the Hellenistic authors such as Vettius Valens, or from the Islamic authors like Abu Ma’shar, Sahl ibn Bishr, and Masha’allah, and from Renaissance Astrologers like William Lilly. This is the opinion of the ancient astrologers and my agreements and nuances with added.

Now that Jupiter is back in its home sign, we find ourselves in a similar place to where we were in 2019 when Jupiter was in Sagittarius. That was also the last time Jupiter has been back to its home sign since 2010. After Jupiter just coming from a major dignity change in the past year with the pandemic, the qualities of the aforementioned significations had trouble coming about. When Jupiter is not in good dignity and is challenged in the chart, whatever Jupiter represents has trouble manifesting as experiences, and we tend to get the opposite of that. Jupiter coming back into a sign of dignity looks like redefining our relationship with faith and how to move forward with the future after experiencing a crisis point when Jupiter was in Fall in Capricorn (the pandemic during 2020). There has been a lot of grief people have had to work through with not seeing their loved ones, their friends passing, people losing their job due to the pandemic and the stability of our lives— the Jupiterian has really been lacking in our lives as of lately. In the midst of another surge of the pandemic: how do we redefine our connection with understanding internal faith, meaning, purpose, and fulfillment in our lives after feeling such depravity? How do we deal with emotional recovery from a pandemic in the midst of a world that exploits labor at the expense of the quality of people’s lives? Jupiter in Pisces will show us what we need to walk away from and where we need to make changes to what nourishes us and supports us. Jupiter brings the changing of the tides to the house in our chart that Pisces rules over.

  • Jan 8th: SHADOW, Jupiter leaves its Post Retrograde Shadow at 2º11’ Pisces

  • Feb 17th: PHASIS, Jupiter descends into the Sun’s Beams (within 12º of the Sun), becoming invisible in the sky at 11º11 Pisces.

  • March 5th: CAZIMI, Jupiter is reborn by the Sun through a Cazimi (translating to “in the heart [of the sun]”). They conjoin at 14º58’ Pisces, starting a new synodic period (a new cycle of a conjunction with the Sun).

  • March 21st: PHASIS, Jupiter emerges from the Sun’s Beams (12º separating conjunction) and becomes visible as a Morning Star. From this moment forward, Jupiter will be visible in the Eastern Sky just before sunrise at 18º47’ Pisces.

  • Oct 28th: Jupiter re-enters Pisces

  • Nov 23rd: (SECOND STATION) Jupiter stations Direct at 28º47’ Pisces

  • Dec 20th: Jupiter re-enters Aries

When we take a look at this timeline my immediate observations are that Jupiter is currently in the process of ending its Retrograde cycle of 2021 in the beginning of 2022. Jupiter is in the last part of its Solar Phase cycle after its second station. This means that Jupiter’s ingress from now until March 5th is going to take a slightly different tone than what was experienced earlier in May-July of 2021. January will be about resolving what happened earlier in 2021 and wrapping that cycle up. January is Jupiter’s opportunity to move through a new part of Pisces, however, Jupiter is in the process of being reborn & in the part of our chart that Pisces rules, we may be experiencing some loss or needing to change the circumstances of the topics that house represents. Jupiter is naturally hot and wet, but is in a cold and wet phase, so there is contention with Jupiter’s nature to expand with the phase’s nature of coldness and contraction. The end of the ending comes in February when Jupiter enters the beams of the Sun and is no longer visible in the sky.

It isn’t until March when Jupiter is reborn through a conjunction to the Sun that we get to find a new opportunity to expand the topics in the house that Pisces rules in your chart. Especially when April rolls in with Venus in Pisces, there will be a lot of support to moisten and turn up the temperate of the Pisces house in your chart. Heat expands and Wetness binds things together. There’s a great opportunity to expand and connect further with this house. Towards the end of March, Jupiter will become visible and it's at this time we are able to enjoy what new beginnings took place. Jupiter and the Sun have had their meeting and Jupiter will now begin a new solar phase cycle.

As we move throughout the middle part of 2022, Jupiter will be in Aries for the majority of this time, expanding and heating up the Aries part of your chart, however, in the beginning of May, Jupiter will enter shadow while still in Pisces, and will eventually have to go back and revisit what took place in May during October-December when Jupiter re-ingresses into Pisces. Pay attention to what situations open up in May that may seem to turn around during October in 2022. Jupiter will be losing heat and will be dried out by this time period, and in many ways we might find ourselves feeling burned out as a result of these situations and almost like we’re quenching for some sort of thirst that needs to be fulfilled. This comes through contraction, leaving something, and ending a cycle because Jupiter is approaching its second station where it gets colder, marking the final 3rd of its Retrograde cycle.

Horoscopes

Below, we will look at Horoscopes for each of the 12 Rising Signs and see how this Jupiter transit will impact their chart. I only write my horoscopes for the Rising Sign, so for the most accurate reading, read for your Rising sign.

Aries: 12th House

For Aries Risings, Jupiter enters their 12th house. In a cadent house, Jupiter seeks to bring you to a place of transition and liminality. The 12th house is the house of sorrow, and with Jupiter here, you might find yourself working through and processing sorrow, loss, and grief. Seeking retreat to refuel your social battery might be of utmost importance. You’ll find yourself being freed from anything that is holding you back, restricting your will, and making it harder for you to transition. In the house that Saturn rejoices in, you find yourself having more emotional awareness of your self-limiting behaviors and traits, and learning to get in touch with your shadow side. Acceptance for your mistakes and wrongdoings will also come in. Finding forgiveness and humility. Getting deeper in touch with spirituality and divination, specifically protection work is relevant during this time period. Spiritual cleansing and removal of negative spirits.

Taurus: 11th House

For Taurus Risings, Jupiter enters their 11th house. Jupiter actually rejoices in this house, meaning Jupiter is able to bring about its significations with much more ease and delight. Some of the significations for the houses actually derive from the Planetary Joys, and for Jupiter and the 11th, this means friends, friend groups, communities, organizations, gatherings, and seeing people you care about and who have similar goals. You may find yourself wrapping up old relationships that started from March - July of 2021, and starting new ones when Jupiter becomes reborn in March. You’ll find your social circle expanding and networking with different kinds of people throughout March-May. Take the opportunity to utilize your connections to help you, support you, and uplift you in your goals and endeavors. I’ve seen Jupiter passing through the 11th as being representative of meeting new friends, or reconnecting with friends from the past, or working to expand one’s social circle. This is traditionally known as the house of Good Spirit, where our spirits are uplifted and we feel encouraged and inspired by the people around us. There will be people to help you out this year and offer their support, whether that be financially or even emotionally. Attracting followers, groups of people, and being administrators of these groups will be something the Taurus Risings step into as the Eclipses pass through their 1st/7th house simultaneously.

Gemini: 10th House

For Gemini Risings, Jupiter enters their 10th house. It’s going to be a big year for Gemini Risings, Jupiter will be expanding their career, public interest, publicity, the public eye, and connections with those in positions of authority and power. Many of them will become teachers and guides for others within the next 6 months, however they will first have to wrap up and end connections with others that began in March-July. The real success and growth within their career arrives in April, where they will find themselves receiving some sort of award or honors. If you have directions and visions for the future of your career, now is the time to put them into motion and take that leap of faith. Jupiter enters an Angular House, also known as the pivots, and in a mutable sign, Jupiter brings a flood of opportunity into your career. You may see that you’re receiving help or support in this field, through someone who may act like a mentor figure. For some of you, marriage might be relevant since Jupiter rules the 7th house as well as the 10th house. Jupiter opens many doors in the 10th, but you must take the effort to walk through them. Don’t be afraid to dream big about what you want the future of your life to look like. Jupiter tends to be more optimistic, so it being up there in the 10th looks like a promotion or raise coming in that expands your opportunity of what could be possible for you to achieve. For others, this may be about wanting to expand the scope of their reputation and what they’re known for, through generosity, compassion, and helping others. People will see them as this Jupiterian influence for the next 6 months, where they are benevolent, in positions of leadership, and influence.

Cancer: 9th House

For Cancer Risings, Jupiter is entering their 9th house. The 9th house is the house of teaching, guidance, knowledge, education, learning, college, professors, religion, divination, astrology, tarot, travel, journeys, long-distance, foreign places, the unknown, dreams, freedom seeking, and adventure are all on the horizon for you with Jupiter entering this house. Some people make take on the teaching role, but they may also seek out teachers or be in the pursuit of knowledge. There’s going to be a desire to travel and you may have some of the most expansive experiences in long-distance travel. It’s a time to familiarize yourself with the unknown and expand your understanding of the world around you. You can see someone reconnecting with faith, religion, spiritual practice, and being called to use healing gifts involving water. There can be some accomplishment or sense of expansiveness and victory within education matters, like working to get a degree, a certification, graduating, or credentials. Jupiter in this house offers the opportunity of expanding your horizons and your visions, what fulfills your desire to have purpose and meaning in life? How do you take your imagination and make it your reality? The 9th House and Jupiter share the signification of dreams so you may literally have prophetic dreams. Psychic gifts and talents are often found with the 9th house.

Leo: 8th House

For Leo Risings, Jupiter will enter their 8th house. The 8th house represents debts, taxes, other people’s money, and it will be a time for other people to share their money, possessions, and resources with you. Apply for scholarships, grants, loans— if you need the support of other people’s resources, you’ll find generosity waiting on the other side of that request. The 8th house can talk about fears, anxiety, trauma, grief, and death as topics that are much heavier. The 8th house is where we process detachment and grief, and it may be a period of working through trauma and gaining perspective over challenging events in your relationship life. Jupiter in the 8th may be a great time to find ways to cope and process grief, and utilize it in a way that keeps your emotional being flowing and the energy cleared. You find yourself also having freedom from someone else’s control too. It’s going to be an empowering time, but make sure you’re managing how much money you owe others. The 8th house is about debts and loss, so without any moderation, this can expand how much you owe to other people. Overspending might become an issue. Inheritance from those who have passed may become relevant as well. Whether that looks like money, property, physical items, or someone just giving you something that was their possession, you can expect a gift from someone else. Oftentimes, divorce becomes relevant an 8th house topic, so maybe there’s some increase in money as a result.

Virgo: 7th House

For Virgo Risings, Jupiter will be entering their 7th house. The 7th house is representative of the other person, whether that be a business transaction, trading, buying and selling, an enemy, someone oppositional or who challenges them, or a spouse, a partner, and an opportunity for commitment or engagement. Jupiter expands one’s faith and trust in other people when in the 7th, but it can also create enemies at the same time too. This can be a great transit for those doing one on one consulting work with other people, working with other individuals, and creating connections. Jupiter expands business transactions here and allows one to do business. Some of you may be opening your own business. Take the leap. Other may want to start dating and thinking about the types of relationships they want. Some may actually get into a relationship and find people that want to reciprocate that energy. Other times this can be representative of a lot of people you’re engaging with are friends or groups of people. You’re at a lot of meetings, and get together with others. It’s a time to put your faith in others and learn to detach from the coldness and dryness of Mercury, and add some compassion. Romance is beautiful. Dance with the winds of Love. In other instances, you can see legal issues, lawsuits, and wanting to pursue justice and peace against an enemy being relevant for you. Some may find forgiveness from their enemies or apologies from them.

Libra: 6th House

For Libra Risings, Jupiter will enter their 6th house. The 6th house is the house of work, effort, labor. Some of you may be undertaking some big projects pretty soon. Jupiter has a vision and imagination to expand and in the 6th house, Jupiter works to establish this vision in reality through putting something into motion. Action and pursuit are qualities of the 6th house, as this is where Mars rejoices. Jupiter gives help with projects or challenges you’re going through. For some people, unfortunately, this can deal with sickness or health issues arising, but because Jupiter is a benefic planet, you will find ways to overcome and alleviate sickness. Jupiter in the 6th can talk about developing a deeper relationship with work and your capacity of what labor you can exert and whether it feels purposeful or meaningful. It’s definitely about prioritizing where you invest your energy. It also brings a deeper understanding of one’s health patterns. Whether this looks like increasing exercise, changing your eating and sleeping habits, any change to how you’re fueled and filled with energy becomes relevant. You’ll see promotions at work, increase in responsibility of tasks to manage, and making strides to bring justice to where there is injustice. You might see yourself adopting a kitten or a dog, or any kind of small pet or animal. Sometimes playing sports or doing competitions within sports are brought up for the 6th house, specific sports that involve your feet and thighs, such as Soccer (Feet) or Running (Thighs). Finding victory in these competitions, and working to increase athleticism might be relevant for some people. This can also look like working out, getting your blood pumping, and finding ways to get your body physically active and in motion.

Scorpio: 5th House

For Scorpio Risings, Jupiter enters their 5th house. The 5th house represents children, birth, and youth. These can be literal, such as having a child, but they can also not be in terms of pregnancy, but actually working with or being around kids, such as being a teacher and being in a classroom full of kids. It inspires one to express themselves. There is a desire to expand one’s comfort and enjoyment of life through nourishment in care. In the 5th house, we look at how we feel at ease with the circumstances around us and where we take enjoyment and indulgence in. Maybe some people enjoy biking, others enjoy video games, all sorts of hobbies and pleasures come up with Jupiter in the 5th. The relationship one has to their inner child and giving themselves permission to be happy are all Jupiter 5th house themes. In some instances, you can see an increase in one’s sex life and understanding of their sexuality. You can see people expanding their understanding of their sexual preferences and getting deeper in touch with themselves and their body. The physical and sensational pleasures are Jupiter in the 5th. You can also see people entering new relationships and romantic interests. It will definitely be a time to touch into the creative and generative parts of one’s self and how they can give life to something and sustain and support it. How do we fuel the things we love? And do we love the things we fuel?

Sagittarius: 4th House

For Sagittarius Risings, Jupiter will enter their 4th house. The 4th house deals with one’s home and living situation. It could talk about wanting to move long distance, or even just expand the circumstances of one’s living situation. The home in some way could be getting larger or expanding. Because the 4th house has connotations to family, there can be some sort of increase or addition to the family that comes in. Maybe you’re reconnecting and talking to more family again during this time, or trying to build and redefine your own family. It is also a time period where you might value more privacy and want to turn inward to look at the past. Being reflective on the past is totally Pisces in the 4th, and trying to find some sort of peace with family. There can be some inheritance or property acquired during this time. Also the Sagittarius Rising might be returning back home. Whether this looks like just going to travel home, or going to move back home with partners, the idea of home or origins is relevant. Reconnecting with your roots, heritage, and ancestry all fall under the 4th house, and maybe this is traveling back to the land of origin. Reconnecting with your lineage and the legacy that was left for you (or wasn’t) is going to come up a lot. This may talk about something going on with your parents as well too where they’re experiencing expansion in one part of their life. And for whoever this may apply to, if you want to find buried treasure, now is the good time to dig up sand at the beach, you might get lucky! Jupiter in the 4th can talk about honoring your ancestors and forming a spiritual connection with them. Jupiter here shows the act of someone honoring or praising their ancestors since Jupiter is the planet that Sagittarius Risings are ruled by.

Capricorn: 3rd House

For Capricorn Risings, Jupiter will enter their 3rd house. The third house deals with the topic of familiarity and what is relative to us in the physical world by proximity, such as the town or city we live in. There may be a desire to do more short distance traveling during this time period, of doing long-distance travel frequently. The 3rd House rules over siblings so you can see someone people literally gaining a sibling, but a time of establishing a deeper and more meaningful connection with them. This house does govern over spirituality, prayer, and worship and might incline one to redefine their relationship to physical acts of devotion to their practice. You see people start expanding their communication and usage of social media with the 3rd house. Some people may be in the process of writing books, or newspapers, newsletters, blogging, vlogging, journalism, and utilization of social media. Starting a podcast, doing more Youtube videos, and expanding your connection is what the 3rd house shows us. I’ve also seen people with Jupiter passing through the 3rd house join local community centers, working in education, and helping people in the surrounding neighborhoods. There’s a desire to expand one’s understanding of what is familiar to them and this transit can be quite nostalgic.

Aquarius: 2nd House

For Aquarius Risings, Jupiter will enter their 2nd house. The main topic the 2nd house deals with is money, and with Jupiter entering its home sign while entering the 2nd house is a good sign for an increase in finances. Jupiter gives more financial opportunities when in the 2nd house, but how much success you are able to cultivate is dependant on you. In some ancient text, it is said that if Jupiter is in the 2nd house that it will make the individual spend money until they have nothing left. So while Jupiter is expanding your pockets, be weary towards the inclination of overspending. You’ll find ways to move towards financial freedom, and opening doors & opportunities that will bring abundance and relief towards the hard work you’ve done with Saturn in your 1st since March 2020. Jupiter in the 2nd can also be about wanting more freedom and free time to just enjoy life and hang out with friends, and practicing better time management. We see the issue of power dynamics come up with the 2nd/8th house, so for many people it may be a period where they reclaim agency over where they’re allocating their time and what eats up a lot of their time. Purchasing and accumulating resources and physical items to invest in yourself are going to be themes that come up. This can also be a time of learning many new skills, since the 2nd house shows what we are skilled at, what are our tools, and assets. You may find that the money you’re receiving is from patrons, people who want to donate to you, and support what you’re doing since Jupiter also rules your 11th house of Sagittarius. It’s better to save money during this time period, but don’t be afraid to make time for fun.

Pisces: 1st House

For Pisces Risings, Jupiter will enter their 1st house. For Pisces Risings, Jupiter is the ruler of their Ascendant, which means that Jupiter is the planet that literally represents them in their chart. Jupiter has been through their 12th house in the past year, signaling a time period of retreat, isolation, and finding comfort in privacy. Whereas for this transit, Jupiter will be returning back home to their first house, and for one this can bring a much-needed sense of openness and ability to connect with others in a more fluid way. Jupiter coming into the 1st house may mean some recognition from notable public figures, since Jupiter also rules the 10th, and expanding the public interest of that individual. Ultimately this is a reinvention of self. Who are you? Who do you want to become? What are the possibilities of who you can be? These are questions that will be asked throughout this transit. In other literal instances, I’ve seen Jupiter passing through the 1st being representative of people getting pregnant (this happened to my Mom when I was born). There may be a desire to change something about your name or identity, and choosing a different way to identify that feels more purposeful to how you understand and connect to yourself. The 1st house is the house of life and self, so it may be a period of needing to take better care of your health, in a similar way to Libra Risings. The 1st house often becomes labeled as a house of orators, so if you have something to say, people will listen. They may take on the responsibility to hold emotional space and create gatherings for others and take on that organizing role. This transit will definitely be all about YOU and connecting to the person you want to become, and Jupiter gives limitless opportunity for you to explore that ocean.
