What is A Birth Chart?

Astrology is the study of knowing what arises in this world as a result of the movement of the planets. Natal astrology is then the application of astrology to understanding the individual lives of people based on the positions of the planets at the moment they were born.

Proto-natal astrology originates in the Babylonian astrological tradition with the emergence of the subdivisions of the zodiac like the Bounds and the Dodecatemoria that allowed the larger movement of planets to be particularized for individuals.

It is then adopted in the Hellenistic, Persian, and Indic worlds as Horoscopic astrology is developed and transmitted throughout West and Central Asia. The Islamicate astrologers will then inherit, adopt, and expand on this framework creating a synthesizes method for analyzing and predicting the lives of individuals based on their horoscope. In my nativity sessions, we will recreate their methods based on the teachings of Dorotheus, Al-Andarzaghar, Masha’allah ibn Athari, and Abu Ma’shar Al Balkhi.

The Birth Chart relies on a few core pieces of data: the date you were born, used to calculate the positions of the planets along the zodiac, the time you were born to determine where the planets were in the sky at the exact moment of birth, and the location of birth to determine how the celestial alignment would’ve been observed in that locality.

What a Birth Chart can tell you about your life:

• The Nature of the Soul, Personality, Psychology, and Expression

• Manner of gaining and accumulating wealth and money

• Relationships with relatives, siblings, mother, father, and their conditions

• Potential to have children or not

• Where you’ll be prone to illness, disease, and injuries in your life

• Love, sex-life, relationships, romance, their conditions, trajectory, and all contracts, partnerships and agreements

• Death, near-death experiences to be mindful of, the manner of death, inheritences and gains that arise from death, burdens, debts, periods of financial loss, mental distress, anxiety

• Whether one will travel or not, what direction they will go towards, whether travel is beneficial or not by land, sea, or sky

• A person’s religious beliefs, occult study, divination skills, prophetic abilities, and what they will study

• Career, vocation, fame, eminence, whether one will achieve eminence, what career someone would excell in, and how they gain reputation

• Where to find friends, allies, and the dynamics of your larger community

• Who are your enemies, evil-eye, gossip, slander, the source, direction, and remedies for casting away enemies

The Nativity Session

This is a Full Hellenistic + Medieval Islamicate, traditional astrology, birth chart reading for delineating the major events, topics, and changes over the course of your life.

This session requires an accurate birth time.

This is the first session I recommend clients book when they want to start seeing me as their astrologer. The natal chart gives us insight into the circumstances you were born into and how the planets are shaping your experience of life. It will set the base for any astrology we do together moving forward as the natal chart is the foundation of your circumstances, destiny, and its unfolding.

Clients are encouraged to come curious with questions as this reading is a dialogue between myself and my client. If there are parts of your life you’re confused about and want more clarity, we will be able to identify it in the horoscope and delineate what the outcome and trajectory of it will be.

The entire session is 2 hours in which we’ll run through the various procedures for delineating these topics of your life (self, money, career, love, religion, family). Addressing the condition at birth based on the horoscope, circumstances that may add fortune or bring hardship around that area of life, and then prescribe practical advice and operations tailored to your birth chart to remedy the situation moving forward. To all this, we add predictive astrology in which we identify where you are at currently in the larger timeline of your life, and how that shapes your current situations and experience.

The nativity session is the initial diagnosis of your horoscope, its condition, identifying which planets govern over the specific topics in your life, and what effect that will produce. After you book a nativity session, you are encouraged to schedule your next reading around your birthday where we will interpret your birth chart on a yearly basis to make concrete predictions for upcoming events, changes in the soul, your fortune, and prescriptions for the year.
