The Revolution in astrology refers to the moment the Sun returns to the same position it was it in the zodiac when you were born. This is commonly known as the Solar Return, Solar Revolution, and the technique in Islamicate Astrology is known as the Revolution of Years.

It is a new horoscope that is cast on your birthday every year and is delineated in tandem with your natal chart to see how the events predicted through the fardar, directions, and profections will show up in the year.

Symbolically, the Solar Revolution is important because it is a renewal of life. Abu Ma’shar tells us in the Great Introduction that the Sun is responsible for composing forms, animate beings, and life in this world, according to the powers embedded within it by Allah ﷻ. Your birthday is your renewal of life, however the conditions of birth are not the same as they are now and have changed. The goal of the astrologer is to delineate this horoscope in identify how the circumstances of your life have changed and what events will appear in the forthcoming year.

What an Annual Revolution Chart can tell you

• Changes within your soul, personality, and life

• What your financial condition looks like, new opportunites or difficulties

• Whether or not you’ll travel in the year, and if it is fortunate and beneficial

• If you’ll move houses/living situation, and relationship with family and relatives

• Whether or not you’ll get pregnant, have children, if it will likely be a boy or girl

• If theres potential for diseases, injury, illness, and when you can expect it

• For single people, if you’ll find love, and for coupled people your experience of love with your partner in that year; changes in contracts and alliances

• Difficulties with employment, debt, and loss; inhertiences and whether they will come with ease or difficulty

• Changes in your religion, spiritual path, and the pursuit of studying, education, and learning

• Advancements in career, acclaim, awards, growth in reputation but also scandal and disgrace

• Changes in your friends, alliances, and communtiy for the better or for the worse

• If enemies, evil eye, or gossip will be a disturbance in the year and how to overcome it

Revolution of the Years Session

This session requires a birth time.

After you’ve had your natal chart delineated by me for the base indications of what the trajectory of your life will look like, you should then book a Revolution of the Years session around your birthday. Typically, this is in the month of your birthday. Some people book a session on the exact day but you don’t have to, as long as you come around when your birthday shifts over you’re good.

In Abu Ma’shar’s predictive system, we will use a combination of Decade Time-Lords and Annual Time-Lords to identify which planets hold influence over the larger chapter of your life, identifying how this individual year fits within that chapter, and delineating what you can expect to experience in each individual month.

We start our delineation at the Decade level with the Fardars and Directions, then work our way to annual prediction with Transfer of the Years, Lord of the Turn and Annual Revolution, finally we narrow down our predictions to exact months and dates using Continuous Transfers, Monthly Transfers, and Monthly Revolutions.
